Pueblo’s last Kmart store to close by end of 2019
Kmart and Sears stores are continuing to liquidate and close after the company was reformed out of bankruptcy earlier this year, and the last Pueblo Kmart is now on a list of locations that will soon shutter.
Pueblo’s only remaining Kmart is at 3415 N Elizabeth St., just off the southwest intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and Interstate 25 on the city’s North Side.
A previous Pueblo Kmart location, on the city’s South Side at 3900 W. Northern Ave. off Pueblo Boulevard (U.S. 45), closed in early 2013.
According to USA Today, liquidation sales will begin around the middle of September, and more of the Sears Holding Corporation’s 380 or so existing stores will be closed by the end of the year if not sooner.
KRDO NewsChannel 13 reports that the Pueblo Kmart will close by mid-December.
Pueblo’s Kmart closing will just leave one of the brand’s stores in Colorado, a Loveland location.
An Aurora Sears store will also reportedly close.
A Sears at the Pueblo Mall and two in Colorado Springs shut down earlier this year.
